Distance Education - Student Complaint Information and Procedures
Federal regulations require institutions delivering courses by distance education to provide students or prospective students with contact information for filing complaints with the state approval or licensing entity in the student’s state of residency and any other relevant state official or agency that would appropriately handle a student's complaint.
Depending on the nature of the complaint, SUNY Orange students have access to a variety of sources at the College to file a complaint. SUNY Orange students can access the Academic Grievance Process and Forms. Additional information on other procedures can be found within the College’s catalog and the Student Handbook.
Additional opportunities for filing complaints with the State University of New York (SUNY) or the New York State Education Department (NYSED) are also available.
Students who reside in a state other than New York can also find each state's complaint process, phone number and other pertinent information at the State Higher Educational Executive Officers Association.
