Please note the following correction: In our last issue, we misidentified the tree that was planted in honor of Dean Emeritus George Shepard. The tree that was planted on Monday, June 14, 2004, in his honor, was an oak tree — not a sugar maple.

Class of 1968

I am a past President of the Niagara Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants and was on the Board of Directors of the Spina Bifida Association of Western New York.

Comments: I visit the Middletown area a couple times a year and I still have family living there. I owe much of career from attending Orange County Community College. When I attended Orange County Community College the Vietnam War was going on and all the colleges were in turmoil from it.

Class of 1971

Fred Schwinger 1971: I have been an elementary school music teacher for 30 years ( thanks to a great start at Orange County Community College) and will be retiring in 2 years. Class of 1972

Lana Moravus- Orange County Community College graduating class of 1972. I recently retired after 30 years of being a math teacher, guidance counselor and school administrator. My most recent position was Assistant Principal at Middletown High School a challenging and wonderful position. I remain involved in education as I am still an adjunct instructor in Mathematics for Orange County Community College on both the Middletown Campus and the Newburgh Extension. I have been married to my husband, Charles for thirty seven years. He is a retired math teacher from the Clarkstown Central School District. I have two sons, Michael, who lives in Charlotte, N.C. and Robert, who is attending school at Uppsala University in Sweden.
Thanks!

Janis Graham Kracht would have been 1972 but I didn't graduate I'm a computer programmer.. self-taught with my husband, Ron Kracht from Monticello, NY. We ran our own company, Invisible Light Software, for 5 years as custom C-programmers for various businesses in the tri-state area. Eventually we had to give it up due to health insurance expenses - now Ron works for a compay which sells a nationally marketed RDMS engine as a senior programmer - software engineer/designer. I am currently the Zone Coordinator of the Fidonet network in North America (one of 6 zone coordinators in the network). I began there as a SysOp (System Operator) of a bulletin board system in Warwick NY in 1989. I started Filegate.net in about 1994. filegate.net has become one of the internet's major sites in the world for shareware and freeware software. I worked with USRobotics corporation from 1994-2000 and convinced them to fund the filegate project in order to enable the free access to software collated and collected by other fidonet members before the internet became so widespread (they actually used phone lines, modems and their online communications department's budget to deliver files to 6 of the 7 continents of the world) see http://filegate.net/zone1/filegate.htm for some history :))

Now When I was studying at Orange County Community College my complete life was acting and the theater (The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie).. sadly life isn't very fair after all and because I have had Multiple Sclerosis for about 28 /29 years (since I was 24 years old) I haven't been able to act or participate in those type things.. they remain a hope as I look to the advances of the scientific world for a cure.. it could happen :)
