Friday, November 18th, 2016

Middletown, NY - It is not hyperbole to state that the SUNY Orange women's cross country team had its best season ever. In their first season of competition the team exceeded every expectation. The team, which fielded a full contingent of runners, was nationally ranked for much of the season. The team won the Mid-Hudson Conference title and had the Region 15 Champion. Haley Maerz won the Mid-Hudson Conference race and finished 22nd in a time of 22:14 at the NJCAA National Championship. Also qualifying for the nationals, were Region XV Champion Jennifer Lindstrom who finished in 31st and Renita Johnson who finished 34th. These outstanding performances by our student-athletes give high hopes for the team in 2017.
