N9740 - Understanding the Effects of Emerging Diseases on a Global Community

This survey course articulates the fundamentals of the emerging public health issues of Zoonotic diseases, drug and vector resistance, viral replication, and modern travel. These four factors, whether they appear as a singular disease or a collision of all four have the potential to create a catastrophic medical event. This course is designed to give nurses, health care providers, public health professionals, persons caring for animals, and those in the agri-business a global perspective of the future issues facing health care providers in the U.S., as well as those in the global community at large. 2 sessions
