A vital part of the educational process is the academic guidance available to students throughout their college career. An academic advisor can assist you in developing and meeting your academic goals.
Is there a specific advisor that I must see?
Some students have an assigned advisor, but you are welcome to meet with any full time faculty member of your department.
Where can I find a listing of faculty advisors in my major?
Follow the Academic Advising link to find a listing of full time faculty within each department and their contact information.
What if I have not declared a major, who should I see for advising?
The Advising and Counseling Center has advisors that can help you explore your educational options and assist you with your advising questions.
What if I’m an evening student and can’t meet with an advisor during the day?
A limited number of faculty have evening hours, however, you are more than welcome to make an appointment to meet with an academic advisor in the Advising and Counseling Center
Where should I go for advising when the fall and spring semesters have ended?
When the faculty advisors are not readily available on campus (typically summer and winter breaks), students are welcome to come to the Advising and Counseling Center.
Do I have to meet with a Faculty Advisor?
Students are encouraged to meet with an advisor any time they have questions or concerns regarding degree requirements, etc. However, all matriculated students are required to meet with an advisor to have their program of study approved prior to registering for the following semester’s classes.
