Health and Wellness Education
As a community college health office, we are prepared to deal with a diverse student population with health concerns that range from safe sex and AIDS to menopause. We practice a holistic style of nursing which takes into account the whole person, as well as their family, culture and social supports as being vital factors in their health or wellness.
We offer Health Education Seminars that cover a wide range of health issues. Under Programs and Services you will find descriptions of the variety of services we offer to our students and staff. Faculty members frequently invite us as guest speakers on a range of health topics from stress management to safe sex and drugs. We host an annual Wellness Fair, several Blood drives and monthly health topics presentations. The NYS Department of Health offers free confidential HIV testing in our office monthly. In the Health Services Office we maintain an extensive collection of current health education brochures, pamphlets and videos on issues from AIDS to Herpes Ouster. Please stop in and browse our brochure table.
