Bookstore At the start of each semester the Bookstore arranges for textbooks to be delivered to the Newburgh Extension Center. This makes textbooks available to students at the start of the semester for classes at the Extension Center. Different sections of the same class may use different textbooks so it is always important to bring your schedule and specify to our staff where your class is held when requesting help finding your books.

It is best to purchase textbooks needed for courses at the Newburgh Extension Center at our NEC Bookstore as all books needed for those classes are delivered there prior to the start of each semester as a special service to our students. Those individuals who prefer to buy NEC titles at Middletown would want to discuss availability of specific titles with our staff. Course material only taught in Middletown will not be available at the Newburgh Bookstore. As always, please be sure to have your course schedule available and tell our staff at which location you are taking each class so you are guided to the correct books.

LOCATION:

The NEC Bookstore is located to the left after entering the lobby of the building on the first floor. The Bookstore is Room 143. If you have any questions or need any assistance in locating the Bookstore you can inquire at the Security Desk also located in the lobby.

Return Policy

Keep Your Receipt!!

We cannot process a return or exchange without it!

Customers must have their original register receipt and books must be in perfect, saleable condition free from any writing, stains, markings or damage. All packaging and shrink-wrap must be intact.

Textbook Returns and Exchange:

Textbook returns and exchanges: During the 15 week Fall and Spring semesters, the return and exchange period for textbooks runs through the second week of class. During the 6 week Summer sessions, it is through the first week of class. Classes of shorter duration are not permitted returns or exchanges once the class has begun. Returns and exchanges may take place at the NEC Bookstore for books purchased in that location during their scheduled hours of operation. For current bookstore hours at the Newburgh Extension Center click on the following link: NEC Current Semester Hours

When the NEC Bookstore Service is closed, returns and exchanges for books purchased in that location may take place in Middletown up through the deadline for the current semester.

Non-text merchandise returns and exchanges:

Non-text merchandise may be returned within 5 business days from purchase if the packaging is intact, the item is in saleable condition and the original receipt is presented. Novels, electronics, calculators, diskettes, software and stethoscopes are non-returnable. Defective items should be returned immediately and will be replaced.
