Homepage, Secondary Entry Points Get New Look; Rest of Site to Carry New Top Banner

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – SUNY Orange unveiled a “new look” for its official college web site Friday, featuring a redesigned homepage, new secondary entry point pages and a revised navigational structure. The changes are intended to enhance navigation throughout the College’s extensive array of web pages while also creating a new visual identity for the College’s online presence.

The new homepage, which will continue to reside at, will spotlight a series of testimonials contained in a new, graphically appealing presentation. In addition, a scrolling message board will provide current announcements that are of interest to students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members. Each day’s events at the College will be listed in a dedicated and consistent location while the latest news and headlines will be visible in a “News” box. A revised front-page navigation system will direct site visitors to five different secondary entry points (Current Students, Future Students, Faculty/Staff, Alumni/Visitors, and Continuing Education) depending on the user’s needs.

A new top banner that features a horizontal navigation bar with drop-down menus will be located on every page throughout the site, allowing users to move easily throughout the site’s major areas of interest, including academics, admissions, college services and college events.

“With more and more students and parents relying upon the internet as a research tool during the college selection process, and as we continue to direct current students to our web site to access items such as the College Catalog and MySUNYOrange, it became imperative that we increase our ability to offer new and updated information on the homepage on a more regular basis,” says Vinnie Cazzetta, vice president for institutional advancement. “Our site has always been tremendously informative, and we expect that will continue.

“To enhance the site’s visual appeal, we’ve added a series of testimonials that offer visitors a glimpse of the College through the eyes of our students, alumni, faculty and staff, which we also feel is important,” Cazzetta continued.

Along with the new site design, College officials have launched MySUNYOrange, an all-inclusive entry point for the College’s online services. By logging on to, students can check grades, send and receive e-mail via their new SUNY Orange e-mail account, sign in to online classes, and receive instructors’ materials and class handouts. Faculty and staff members can access the College’s complete roster of online options, including e-mail, calendars and a meeting scheduler.

In the future, additional functions will be added to “MySUNYOrange,” including online registration that will allow students to arrange their upcoming semester’s schedule quickly and conveniently.
