In addition, those prospective students in attendance had the chance to tour the campus, gather necessary information regarding scholarships and financial aid, and learn more about the admissions process. In all, nearly 275 people visited the George F. Shepard Center for the two-and-one-half hour event, with 131 of those attendees signing in as prospective students. In addition to high school students, potential adult students and folks looking to return to the classroom on a part-time basis also filled the room.

“We had another strong turnout,” said Michael Roe, interim director of admissions. “This event is a wonderful opportunity for prospective students to meet with our faculty and staff to discuss their academic plans, and how SUNY Orange can help them meet their goals.

We know they have choices to make, but events like our Open House show them that SUNY Orange can be the right choice for them,” Roe added. “We have many great programs and services, and this is one way we can showcase them.”

The Admissions Office will continue its community outreach efforts with a trio of upcoming events. Prospective students interested in the College’s Arts and Communication programs—encompassing music, fine arts, theater, communications, graphics and media—can attend an informational reception at 6:30 p.m., May 30 in Orange Hall Gallery.

The College will staff its monthly information booth from Noon to 4 p.m., Sunday, June 3, in the lower level center court of Middletown’s Galleria Mall. And, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, July 9, the College will hold a “General Information Night” at the Shepard Center, 115 South Street, Middletown.
