Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sign up?

Contact Janet Speranza either by phone (341-4070) or by e-mail to set up an advising appointment to register for reading or math and writing courses. If you are only interested in registering for the developmental arithmetic course (N7662 OA), you may go directly to the Registration office on the third floor of the Shepard Student Center or to the Continuing and Professional Education website to register for this non-credit course.

How many classes can I take?

You may enroll in either one or two institute courses as long as meeting times for the two courses you choose do not conflict. You may register for one class at 8:00 AM and one at 10:55 AM.

How do I know which class I should take?

  • First time students: Each student should be assessed before signing up. Please go to the Advising and Counseling website or office on the third floor of the Shepard Student Center or call 341-4070 for information about course placement testing.

What can I do during the Campus Connections?

This is a time to relax, make new friends, and talk about your college experience. You will have time to talk to students, the coordinator, advisor, and tutors as well. You can participate in different activities and workshops that are designed to help you do well and enjoy your college experience.

Would this be a good program for high school graduates or adults who are returning to college?

Yes, this is an excellent opportunity for students who want to develop or refresh their basic skills quickly so they can move ahead to college level studies.
