Receiving College: Metropolitan College of New York Department: Audrey Cohen School for Human Services & Education Program(s): Human Services Degree: Bachelor of Professional Studies in Human Services (BPS) Metropolitan College of New York's Bachelor of Professional Studies in Human Services requires completion from Orange County Community College with an Associate degree. The Associate degree accepted under this articulation agreement from Orange County Community College is an Associate degree in Human Services. Students with an earned Associate degree from Orange County Community College will be accepted into the MCNY's Audrey Cohen School for Human Services & Education. The MCNY BPS degree can be completed in a minimum of four semesters as full-time students. Students are eligible to initially enroll with MCNY for any one of the three semesters [Spring, Summer or Fall]. All applicants to MCNY must complete all required admissions documents as set forth by the Admissions Office from time to time. Orange County Community College course curriculum will be reviewed as part of periodic program reviews in order to keep the articulation agreement current. In addition, this agreement will be amended as necessary in an effort to allow for any curricular changes in the Metropolitan College of New York Bachelor of Professional Studies in Human Services program and maintain the transfer terms outlined. As part of the outcomes assessment, Metropolitan College of New York will track the number of students admitted under this articulation agreement, the number of students who complete the requirements for a Bachelor degree and the number of semesters from entrance to graduation. Metropolitan College of New York will provide this information to Orange County Community College on a yearly basis. Metropolitan College of New York and Orange County Community College will publicize information regarding this articulation agreement in their respective college catalogs, through their Admissions Offices, as part of transfer advisement and on the website. It is understood that all other promotional activities related to this agreement cannot be conducted without prior written approval of both the Chief Academic Officer of Metropolitan College of New York and the Vice President of Academic Affairs of Orange County Community College. All Orange County Community College Graduates that enroll with MCNY through the articulation program would qualify for a USD$1,000 MCNY Transfer Grant each semester for up to four (4) full-time semesters. In addition to this aid, MCNY will review the students' Expected Family Contribution (EFC) and may offer additional institutional aid. Students may apply for other scholarships, grants and loans for which they qualify for. MCNY students coming from Orange County Community College under this articulation agreement that are continuously enrolled will be eligible for a fixed tuition rate in accordance with MCNY's tuition guarantee policy, as amended from time to time. This agreement will be formally effective when both institutions have agreed to it by signatures of their Chief Academic Officers and Deans and shall remain in effect until terminated by either institution, provided fifteen (15) weeks advance notice of termination has been given. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Metropolitan College of New York Bachelor of Professional Studies in Human Services requires completion of 120 credits with a 2.0 cumulative grade point average. A minimum GPA of 2.0 from BXCC is required for admission under this articulation agreement. It allows qualified graduates of Orange County Community College to receive the equivalent of four (4) semesters of transfer credit at MCNY toward the Bachelor of Professional Studies degree. Students with an earned SUNY Orange Associate in Human Services meeting the above criteria will be eligible to enter directly into their fifth semester at MCNY. An additional 60 credits are required to earn the MCNY Bachelor of Professional Studies in Human Services degree which can be completed in a minimum of one year and four months as full-time students.
