Two New bachelor programs at SUNY Canton... 

... Emergency Disaster Management (designed to train those who oversee 
all emergency and first responder personnel in time of disaster or 
emergency). 

... Alternative and Renewable Energy Applications 
(will focus on technologies such as wind, solar, geothermal, fuel 
cell, biofuel and other emerging technologies). 

Students who are passionate about the environment should explore transferring to 
SUNY-ESF (Environmental School of Forestry). Lots of field study and internships 
available. 

ANY (Advantage New York) TAKERS? 
Prospective students who are New York State residents qualify for this tuition 
reduction at MCLA (Mass. College of Lib. Arts). Annual cost of this college 
(tuition, room, board, fees & books) is $21,300 for out-of-state students. ANY 
tuition reduction is $8,500 making it possible for N.Y. students to attend MCLA for 
approx. $12,800 per year! Quite a good deal! 

Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Service offered at Southern New Hampshire Univ. for 
Criminal Justice Assoc. degree grads and law enforcement officers seeking to 
advance careers. On-line courses available. 

SUNY-FIT (Fashion Inst. of Tech.) Is offering a new major in Computer Animation 
leading to a BFA degree. It�s designed to give students an in-depth experience in 
3D modeling and animation, and interactive media design, including 
integration of music and sound. Writing and lib. arts courses such as Hist. Of 
Animation and Survey of American Music will compose a vital part of coursework.

Dominican College....recently opened a beautiful new facility of labs and classrooms for 
Athletic Training, Nursing, Occup. Therapy, Phys. Therapy, Science & Math. 
Offers Doctorate in Phys. Therapy. They have increased their Transfer 
Scholarship Awards from $1,000 to $5,500 based on GPA. 

SUNY Purchase.... 
Often, Purchase is remembered for their highly respected Performing Arts 
majors....more often, we should remind students of the tremendous array of 
majors in Lib. Arts & Sciences and Visual Arts available at Purchase. They also 
offer a bachelor�s degree in Lib. Studies, designed especially for adult students.

Marist College 
Marist has been offering courses at their Goshen campus for quite awhile. They 
are presently offering BSW in Social Work in Goshen. It is designed primarily 
for the adult student with classes scheduled on Wed. evening and Sat. morning 
each semester. It allows adults to maintain a job or family obligations and be a 
full-time student by taking 2 or 3 courses in each 10-week term. 

SUNY - Empire State 
Our agreement with Empire includes junior status and guaranteed transferability 
for a great number of our assoc. degree programs. Great college for adults 
needing flexibility in completing degree. 

Mt. St. Mary�s.... 
Located in Newburgh....easily accessible....Mt. St. Mary�s is now completing a 
renovation of their upper class residence halls into garden apartments, which 
will be �co-ed� for the first time. The college is �user-friendly� in transferring credits 
from Orange County Community College. 

St. Thomas Aquinas... 
St. Thomas has transfer scholarships ranging from $2,000-$6,000 yearly which are 
annually renewable. They have each Thurs. set aside to evaluate transcripts for 
potential students, discuss transferrable credits and plans for completing the 
bachelor�s degree. 60 different majors available. 

SUNY New Paltz.... 
New Paltz is becoming more and more competitive in some of their majors such as 
Adolescent and Elem. Education and Communication Disorders. Remind your 
students who are considering New Paltz for the fall semester to complete their 
application immediately!
