Cap & Gown
All graduates are entitled to a cap and gown at no charge. The cap and gown are yours to keep as they are included in your $55 graduation application fee which includes the cap and gown and your tickets and announcements.
YOU MUST PRE-ORDER YOUR CAP AND GOWN ONLINE NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY, APRIL 8th.

When you place your online order, be sure to type in the full name of the college (Orange County Community College). No payment is required for your cap and gown. However, you can order accessories, diploma frames, etc. for which you will be required to pay. Caps and gowns will be distributed (on the 1st floor of the Shepard Student Center) after the mandatory Commencement Rehearsal.
Graduation Tickets and Announcements
All graduates are entitled to 4 tickets and 4 announcements at no charge. If the ceremony is held indoors due to inclement weather, the capacity of the Diana Physical Education Center will not allow for more than four guests per graduate. No extra tickets will be issued nor can they be purchased.
Tickets will not be collected if the ceremony is held outdoors. However, please be mindful of the number of guests you invite since seating is limited outdoors as well.
Both the indoor and outdoor venues are accessible to the handicapped. Security is available with six passenger golf carts to transport guests who may have difficulty walking onto the Alumni Green. Accessible parking is available on Tennis Court Drive behind the Physical Education Building and the Morrison lot.
Guests without tickets who need accessible parking, can park in Parking Lot #6 located behind the George Shepard Student Center. They can then enter the 1st floor of the Student Center and watch a live stream of the Commencement Ceremony. There will also be a live stream of the Commencement Ceremony in the Orange Hall Theater.
DISTRIBUTION DATES FOR TICKETS FOR COMMENCEMENT
Please pick up your tickets on the 2nd floor of the Shepard Student Center on the following dates only:
- Tuesday, May 5, Wednesday, May 6, Thursday, May 7 - 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m and 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
- Monday, May 11, Tuesday, May 12 - 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
You must present a picture ID when picking up your tickets.We will also verify the spelling of your name, your degree and major. This information is necessary to be sure your name cards are correct for the line-up formation for the Commencement Ceremony.
If you are an August, 2019 or December, 2019 graduate and earned a 3.2 Grade Point Average or higher, you will be eligible to purchase a gold honor cord which you may wear with your cap and gown at the Commencement Ceremony. You can purchase the gold honor cord at the Bookstore for $15 after picking up your tickets on the above-noted times and dates. We will provide you with a card for you to hand in to the Bookstore to verify your eligibility to purchase your gold honor cord. Keep in mind, the Bookstore hours may vary from our ticket pick up times.
If you are a Newburgh Campus graduate and will have difficulty coming to Middletown to pick up your tickets, please contact the Office of Student Services at 845 341-4000 and we will make arrangements to have your tickets delivered to the Newburgh Campus at a designated location and time.
