Office of the President ORANGE COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE Middletown, NY 10940 PROFESSIONAL VACANCY Internal Title: Faculty-in-Residence at the Center for Teaching & Learning AY 2007/2008 Posted: April 6, 2007 Deadline: May 4, 2007 Rank and/or Faculty Start Date: FA 2007 Salary Range: Redefined load of 6 credits/8 contact hours per semester Duties in Brief: Faculty in Residence will be committed to excellence in teaching. The goal of this position is to design and implement a year-long special project to improve student learning through the professional development of SUNY Orange Faculty and Staff. The Faculty in Residence will be encouraged to pursue their own creative vision of professional development in keeping with the mission of the CTL. Responsibilities will include the design and implementation of one or more of the following projects: 1) a Faculty Learning Community or Action Research Group, 2) a Workshop Series, 3) a Directory of Faculty Expertise in Teaching, or 4) a Summer Institute in College Teaching. Alternative projects proposed by the Faculty in Residence are also encouraged. The Faculty in Residence will participate in the CTL Advisory Group, help facilitate other CTL initiatives and work closely with the CTL coordinator to continue development of the CTL. This position reports to the Coordinator of the CTL. Qualifications: Required: Full time SUNY Orange tenured Faculty member with five years teaching experience at SUNY Orange. Proven ability to create positive improvements in teaching and learning in themselves and others. Demonstrated skills in collaboration and outreach. Preferred: Outstanding communication and facilitation skills, and a strong interest in professional development. Bilingual skills.
