ARTICULATION AGREEMENT between ORANGE COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE and PURCHASE COLLEGE October 2005 Section One: Objectives of the Agreement The purpose of this agreement between Orange Countyj Community College and Purchase College is: * to promote easy and efficient transfer of Associate Degree graduates from Orange County Community College to Purchase College; * to provide information about junior and senior year requirements to students and advisors at orange County Community College; * to attract qualified students to Orange County Community College and Purchase College; * to facilitate communication between chairpersons, program directors, and deans at Orange County Community College and their counterparts at Purchase College. Section Two: Transfer Agreement This agreement stipulates: 1) Associate�s Degree graduates of Orange County Community College, who satisfy the minimum GPA requirement, and any audition or portfolio admission requirements specified in the program list below, will be admitted into the parallel program at Purchase College, and will be deemed to have satisfied Purchase College�s core and proficiency requirements. Graduates of Orange County Community College admitted under this agreement should have already successfully completed a minimum of seven of the ten SUNY general education requirements, or degree completion may require additional time. 2) Courses transferred will receive full credit awarded by Orange County Community College even if the equivalent Purchase College course is a different number of credits. 3) Associate�s Degree graduates admitted under this agreement into Purchase College liberal arts programs, which have no audition or portfolio admission requirements, will be granted full junior standing, and will not be required to repeat any course at Purchase College that has been successfully completed at Orange County Community College, and will normally be able to complete the requirements for a Bachelor�s Degree in four semesters of full-time work. 4) Associate�s Degree graduates admitted under this agreement into Purchase College conservatory or liberal arts programs with audition or portfolio admission requirements may require more than four semesters of full-time work to complete the requirements for a Bachelor�s Degree, depending on the level of the student�s work. 5) Upon transferring to Purchase College, qualified Orange County Community College graduates will be awarded up to a maximum of 75 credits, subject to Purchase College�s specific program and/or institutional requirements. 6) Associate�s Degree graduates transferring into a parallel program at Purchase College will, whenever possible, be provided with a projected junior and senior year schedule listing specific major requirements and upper-level general education requirements to be completed. 7) Chairpersons, program directors and/or appropriate deans at Orange County Community College and at Purchase College will be responsible for notifying their counterparts of any program changes that might affect the transfer process. 8) Orange County Community College and Purchase College will disseminate information about the articulation agreement and include information about the agreement in appropriate college publications. Purchase College will provide transfer counselors and advisors at Orange County Community College with information concerning transfer opportunities for students wishing to attend Purchase. 9) Parallel programs may be added or subtracted from the agreement by mutual consent. 10) The following are designated as parallel programs: Orange County Community College Degree Program Minimum GPA and Admission Requirements Parallel Purchase College Degree Program AAS in Performing Arts: Jazz/Commercial, Music, Music Business 2.5 and audition Mus.B. in Music Signed, Dr. William Richards Thomas J.
