ARTICULATION AGREEMENT CRIMINAL JUSTICE STUDIES BACHELOR DEGREE COMPLETION PROGRAM BETWEEN SUNY ORANGE COUNTY AND ALFRED UNIVERSITY PURPOSE OF AGREEMENT This document establishes a transfer articulation agreement between SUNY Orange County and Alfred University. Its purpose is to afford students the opportunity to pre=plan their college careers, and to facilitate the transfer process from SUNY Orange County to the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree program in Criminal Justice Studies at Alfred University. GENERAL GUARANTEE OF ADMISSION AND STANDING Students are guaranteed admission into the B.A in Criminal Justice Studies program at Alfred University, and also guaranteed full junior status, if they meet the following criteria. - Graduate from SUNY Orange County with the Associate in Science (A.S.) degree; - Have completed pre-requisite courses in Criminal Justice with a grade of C or higher and achieved a minimum overall grade point average of 2.0. GENERAL GUARANTEE OF OPPORTUNITY TO GRADUATE Students who graduate from SUNY Orange County having taken a minimum of 62 credits from courses listed in Appendix A of this agreement are guaranteed the opportunity to earn the bachelor's degree with 62 credits of normal coursework through Alfred University, providing they achieve a minimum of 2.0 GPA, and earn a grade of C or higher in all required courses in the major. TRANSFER OF COURSES FROM SUNY ORANGE COUNTY Alfred University will accept all credits required for the SUNY Orange County Associate in Science degree, including pre-requisite courses in Criminal Justice from Appendix A, in transfer, toward fulfillment of requirements for the bachelor's degree. The minimum number of credits that must be taken through the Alfred University degree completion program in Criminal Justice Studies must result in a minimum total of 124 credits completed through SUNY Orange County and Alfred University. Alfred University graduation requirements for this program stipulate that a portion of these credits, to be determined by Alfred University, must be completed on the Alfred University Campus. SUNY Orange County graduates that take additional courses through SUNY Orange County to fulfill the prerequisites for the Alfred University degree completion program, may transfer additional credits over and above the number required for the AA or AS degree up to the Alfred University limit of 75 transfer credits. But the minimum number of credits to be completed at Alfred University must result in a total of at least 124 credits. PROMOTION OF AGREEMENT Both parties have the right to use this agreement and the names of SUNY Orange County and Alfred University in all promotional activities including college catalogs and recruitment or advisement activities. PROVISION FOR CHANGES IN POLICIES OR CURRICULA Proposed changes in policies or curricula by either party should be communicated in writing to the other party. PROVISION FOR CANCELLATION Either party may independently cancel this agreement by notifying the other party in writing no less than two years before the intended date of cancellation. Students who have completed 2 wellness activity courses at SUNY Orange County have met this requirement. Students who have not completed 2 wellness activity courses will be required to complete up to 2 different PE activities through AU to satisfy this requirement. This may include PE courses, participation in two different varsity sports or participation in one activity course and one varsity sport. The PE requirement is waived for those 25 or older at the time of admission.
