Be a Lifesaver: Give the Gift of Life
Tuesday, 9 September, 2025
10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
SUNY Orange is thrilled to announce that since November 2022 we are the source of EIGHT bone marrow donor matches through Gift of Life Marrow Registry drives on our campuses --an astonishing number! Let's keep the streak going!
The Gift of Life Marrow Registry, a nonprofit organization established in 1991, is dedicated to saving lives by facilitating blood stem cell and bone marrow transplants for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood-related diseases.
Gift of Life volunteers will visit SUNY Orange three times this fall:
- Newburgh Campus: Tuesday, September 16th from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Kaplan Hall Grand Sreet lobby
- Middletown Campus: Tuesday, September 9th from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Rowley Center 1st floor lobby
- Middletown Campus: Wednesday, October 8th from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Shepard Center Fireplace Lounge during the Women's Wellness Fair
Stop by to learn more about being a potential marrow donor and take the test: you simply swab the inside of your cheeks and complete a registration form on your phone. The process is painless and takes just minutes! Ideal candidates are between 18 to 35 years old, but everyone is welcome. The more registered donors, the more likely it is that someone in need can find a match. Please take 5 minutes to stop by and get swabbed!
If you have any questions about the process, please visit The Gift of Life Website at Gift of Life.
