With preparations for the Spring 2020 play production beginning soon, the Organizational Meeting for this semester’s play, Spring Awakening by Frank Wedekind, will occur on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. in Orange Hall Room 26.

Participation in play productions at SUNY Orange is open to all registered students (full- or part-time). Rehearsals are conducted in the evenings on Monday through Thursday, although you may not be required at all rehearsals, and you may be excused for cause. Be sure NOT to register for classes with conflicting time slots.

Two productions are given each year, presented in November and April. Everyone must audition by presenting a short memorized monologue (30-60 seconds). Casting will be competitive. All members of the company participate in all aspects of production, including backstage crews, scenery and costume construction, lighting, front of house, etc.

To participate, each student must:

1)      Have a minimum GPA of 2.0 (first semester Freshmen excluded)

2)      Currently take or previously have taken Theatre Workshop (THE 107)

3)      Be available for rehearsal every Monday through Thursday evening from 7pm to 10pm

4)      Attend all technical and dress rehearsals leading up to opening night
