The Character(s) in Your Voice: a theatre master class-workshop

Wednesday, 10 March, 2021
7:00 PM - 9:15 PM

The human voice is an actor in itself. Its variety of sounds, sighs, expressions, range, volume, timbre offer its person seemingly unlimited potential. Add a professional voice coach and possibilities become realities.

On Wednesday, March 10, 2021, come via zoom to The Character(s) in Your Voice:
a theatre master class-workshop for exploring and expanding vocal expression presented by Joanne Zipay. The program runs from 7 to 9:15pm.
The zoom link is HERE!

This theatre master class-workshop will begin with the fundamentals of vocal production,
progressing through a series of warmups and exercises.

Then, the evening will continue with an exploration of text and character voices for theatre, film, radio, and animation.

Emphasis will be focused on creating expression and personality through discovering what the human voice can do, and encouraging creativity to flow, always within a safe and healthy vocal environment and technique.

The event is open to students, Apprentice Players, Mission Improv-able actors, and the college community.

A former adjunct professor at SUNY Orange, Joanne Zipay is currently a professor of theatre at Collin College in Plano TX. Over her 40-year nationwide career, she has taught students of all ages at numerous arts programs including Pace University, Stella Adler Conservatory/NYU, CCNY, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Princeton Repertory Shakespeare Festival, Shakespeare Dallas, Stage West Theatre, and Theatre for a New Audience.
