Come Celebrate International Women’s Day with Poet Jenny Xie!

Cultural Affairs at SUNY Orange in collaboration with the Poetry Committee and CIDE (Committee for Institutional Diversity and Equity) is presenting award-winning poet Jenny Xie for a master class - workshop on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 6 to 8pm via zoom. Here is the link:

This evening session will include a Reading of poems from Xie’s latest book plus a generative workshop on ekphrastic poetry followed by Q&A.
This event is free & open to the public.
Jenny Xie holds degrees from Princeton University and NYU. She has received fellowships and grants from Kundiman, Civitella Ranieri Foundation, Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, and Poets & Writers. In addition, she has been honored with the Walt Whitman Award of the Academy of American Poets, the 2019 Levis Reading Prize for her poetry collection Eye Level, the Holmes National Poetry Prize from Princeton University and named a finalist for the National Book Award.
The New Yorker magazine praises her as, “A magician of perspective and scale.”
Efficient in usage of active and descriptive words, Jenny Xie will be highlighting ekphrastic poetry.
