What’s really scary is only 3% donate blood each year. 

That’s not enough! Good thing the movie blood is fake!

This spooky season we’re showcasing predictable ways you see blood wasted in movies and ask: When was the last time you donated blood, platelets or plasma?

We all know the classic horror film scenes. The main character is alone somewhere they shouldn’t be, doing everything you’d never do, unaware they’ll soon meet their inevitable demise.

• A supply run during a zombie apocalypse? Bad idea.
• Visiting a cemetery on Friday the 13th? Yikes!
• Checking on the noise in the dark, creaky basement? That’s a big nope.

Make the right choice instead:

Come to the Wellness Center’s blood drive with the American Red Cross on Thursday, October 20th from 10 am to 4 pm in the lower level of the Shepard Student building, Middletown Campus.

Walk-ins are welcome! But if you prefer to plan ahead you may schedule an appointment at 1-800-Red-Cross or visit redcrossblood.org and use sponsor code: SUNYORANGENY.  

Double Red Donors are welcome.
