FREE On-the-Spot Narcan Training in Newburgh
Tuesday, 14 March, 2023
11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Here are some sobering facts:
- Deaths from opioid overdoses continue to rise.
- Opioids are a factor in seven out of every ten overdose deaths.
- The Fentanyl Epidemic continues to push these statistics sky-high, as over 150 people in the US die every day from overdoses related to synthetic opioids like fentanyl (a synthetic opioid that is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine.)
If opioid abuse and potential overdoses concern you arm yourself with information and skills to save a life.
Catholic Charities is offering on-the-spot Narcan Training on Tuesday, March 14th, in the Grand Street Lobby of the Kaplan Center, Newburgh, from 11am-2pm. They will have pamphlets and other resources available, as well as fentanyl test strips and Narcan Kits, and will train you on how to administer Narcan, taking approximately 10 minutes of your time.
Please plan on stopping by to learn how to administer Narcan before Spring Break. Everyone is welcome. You never know when you will be called on to save a life!
