International Overdose Awareness Day is August 31. Time to Remember. Time to Act.

Thursday, August 31 is International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD), the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdose, remember without stigma those who have died from overdose, and acknowledge the grief of family and friends left behind.

Please join the Wellness Center in an awareness project from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Rowley Center for Science and Engineering 1^st floor lobby. Educational resources will be available, and from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm we will be offering on-the-spot-Narcan training for free.

• Learn about the dangers of opioids and other addictive drugs
• Discover the signs and symptoms of opioid abuse
• Find out what to do in an opioid emergency

We will also be memorializing loved ones lost to overdose and writing inspirational messages of hope and empathy outside Rowley in our “Let’s Chalk About Overdose” campaign.
