Saturday, November 4, 2023 - half-day conference on Human Rights

Among the many decisions that the US Supreme Court made during the last two years, two struck down two landmark decisions from previous courts: a woman’s right to abortion and affirmative action. The 2022 Decision on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization overruled the 1973 decision of Roe v. Wade. The 2023 Decision on Students for Fair Admissions Inc. v. President & Fellows of Harvard College and Students for Fair Admissions, Inc. v. University of North Carolina ended affirmative action in college admissions. This Decision will also have far-reaching effects on hiring practices.

In what direction is the United States pointed? What do these Decisions do to Human Rights? This central issue will be discussed during a half-day conference on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 9 to 12:30pm in Newburgh. Venue:
