Shades of Ethnic Hair and Skin Care

To close Black History Month and move into Women’s History Month, Shades of Ethnic Hair & Skin Care is being offered as a collaborative event by Cultural Affairs and the Committee for Diversity and Equity (CIDE). The presentation which includes a
history of ethnic hair, what makes it unique, and how to practice healthy hair and scalp habits as well as follow a healthy skin routine, will be given by Amethyst Ladson, owner of SOA Beauty in Poughkeepsie.
PowerPoint and demonstration will enhance this evening program scheduled in-person on Thursday, February 29 from 6 to 8:30pm, at the Fireplace Lounge in the Shepard Student Center, SUNY Orange. Ladson will be covering a variety of topics including curly/kinky hair, hair braiding, silk press, protective and natural styles, and caring for the skin. She welcomes discussion and questions.
This program is offered free and open to the public. Parking is free in the college lots # 6 and 7 in back of the Shepard Student Center off East Conkling Avenue and lot # 5 at the corner of Bennett and South Streets, Middletown.
