The Mindy Ross Gallery is alive with Spring colors. After viewing the artworks, one wants to go outdoors and be inspired as artist Susan Miiller has been in this recent series of themed artworks. Titled, Skyscapes, the oil paintings in the show depict open skies and clouds during all times of a day and weather in the Hudson-Delaware region.

The artworks displayed range in size from very large to medium to very small, but no matter the size, each offers a sense of grandeur as the artist takes advantage of the everchanging sky views both in colors and cloud formations and, indeed, each invites the viewer to celebrate the beauty of these moments.

Skyscapes: Oil Paintings by Susan Miiller is on view May 3 through 31.

Gallery hours: 8am-9pm Monday through Thursday; Friday 8am-6pm

The college and gallery are closed during Memorial Day Weekend.

A Closing Reception is scheduled from 4-6:30pm on Friday, May 31. During the reception, music will be provided by ­Bev Poyerd, pianist and Al Ramos, bassist.

Susan Miiller has received many awards and has had many solo exhibitions over the years. Her works are represented in many galleries throughout the United States and are included in numerous corporate, museum, and private collections. In recent years, her works have been included in exhibits in the states of New York, Florida, New Jersey, and Maryland.

She holds a B.F.A in painting from SUNY New Paltz and an M.F.A. in drawing/painting from the University of North Texas. She has been a SUNY adjunct professor of art in two colleges: SUNY Orange from 1999 to the present and SUNY New Paltz from 1999 to 2014.

The Mindy Ross Gallery is located in Kaplan Hall, SUNY Orange, Newburgh.
