More about the performers:
Daniel Villegas is a Spoken Word and Bilingual Emcee from Colombia based in the United States. His set references the Latin American experience/Hispanic culture. Daniel Villegas goes from poem to poem with the use of rhyme expressing the importance of self-knowledge and expression. On this journey he is accompanied by his conga which helps to illustrate the culture's history involving Africa to the diaspora along with the Indigenous peoples and the Spanish influence.
Alessandra Gonzalez is a Salsa singer from Puerto Rico. Inspired by her passion and love for the Latino culture, she fluidly moves from Bachata to Cumbia and everything in between. Alessandra sings from her heart taking the audience into a world where they can relive moments of their past while remaining present in the culture's beauty. Proud to represent her Taino background, Alessandra sings to teach and inspire her audience.
