Curiosity: An Exhibition by Mary Cathryn Roth

“To remain curious throughout one’s life is, in and of itself, an art as well as a key to creative survival. Let your curiosity guide you and always remember that doing what you love will take you to beautiful places.”
These words by Mary Cathryn Roth offer the reader a concept of the focus of her creativity and what drives her to work in several distinctively different media. Her latest show demonstrates how her curiosity has opened her view in art to include such extremely different art as photography, painting, and the intricate details of decorative art. Her photography is varied being both abstract and philosophical while showing antique techniques as well as using modern processes. The paintings which are included, complement the related photography, and the decorative art spotlights handsewn globes of the Westtown (PA) School.

The exhibit is on view March 5 through April 23, 2025 in the Mindy Ross Gallery, Kaplan Hall, 73 First St., Newburgh. Gallery hours are 8am - 9pm Monday -- Thursday and 8am - 6pm on Fridays.
The reception for the exhibit will be held from 4 to 6pm on Saturday, March 8 which is also International Women’s Day. The exhibit and reception are free & open to the public.
