Nursing Alumni to be Hailed for Pandemic Leadership
October 5, 2020MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – The SUNY Orange Foundation & Alumni Engagement celebrate its 14th annual Leadership Awards by honoring the College’s nursing alumni during a virtual event scheduled for 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 23.
As the first college in the United States to offer a two-year nursing degree program nearly 70 years ago, SUNY Orange boasts a long and rich tradition of providing excellent and trained nurses, many of whom continue to work tirelessly as heroes on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. They are often spending time away from their families as they care for so many others. The SUNY Orange Foundation proudly recognizes all that they have done to keep our communities healthy.
This year’s event program will include congratulatory messages from Foundation Executive Director Dawn Ansbro, SUNY Orange President Dr. Kristine Young, SUNY Orange Foundation Chair Francis Peverly, and Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus. The presentation will also include a video compilation of photographs and videos from nursing alumni, a poem reading by author and SUNY Orange student Nicolette Pierre, and shout outs from the event sponsors.
Each ticket will be accompanied by a complimentary gift package which can be mailed or delivered. Each gift package includes: a bottle of wine from City Winery Hudson Valley in Montgomery, N.Y.; a cheese sampler from 5 Spoke Creamery in Goshen, N.Y.; a custom cookie from Elemental Cookies in Washingtonville, N.Y.; and a chocolate sampler from Hudson Valley Chocolates in Wallkill, N.Y.
