SUNY Orange PTK Chapter Receives Prestigious Recognition

April 11, 2022

The SUNY Orange Middletown campus chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) — the premier honor society for students at associate degree-granting colleges — was recently named a 2022 REACH Chapter by the organization. SUNY Orange was one of just 464 PTK chapters to receive the prestigious distinction.

PTK’s REACH Rewards program recognizes and rewards the society’s chapters that excel in membership development. The program was created to further the organization’s mission of providing as many students as possible with the opportunity to receive the benefits of membership including scholarships and increased opportunities for engagement with peers and faculty on campus, which lead to higher rates of completion.

In recognition of this achievement, the SUNY Orange chapter will receive four Phi Theta Kappa graduation stoles to be worn by chapter officers or members during the College's May 19 Commencement ceremony.

PTK recognizes the academic achievement of associate degree-seeking students and helps them to grow as scholars and leaders. The Society is made up of more than 3.8 million members and nearly 1,300 chapters in 10 countries, with approximately 240,000 active members.
