October 18, 2023

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – The SUNY Orange Wellness Center and the Hudson Valley Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association invite the community to view a screening of “Keys Bags Names Words” on Thursday, Oct. 26 at 4 p.m. in the Gerry Forum of the Rowley Center for Science and Engineering on the College’s Middletown campus. Created to reduce fears and stigmas while providing hope – this short film is quirky and inspiring.

This 85-minute movie includes actions individuals can take to reduce the risk of developing dementia, ways to connect meaningfully with loved ones impacted by the disease, and inspiration for life after a dementia diagnosis. A question-and-answer session with a representative from the Alzheimer’s Association will be held immediately following the screening of this award-winning documentary.

“Keys Bags Names Words” consists of intimate profiles of people living with dementia and their care partners, as well as doctors discussing what you can do in your own life to support brain health and prevent cognitive decline. Musicians and artists, scientists, and policy experts from around the world engage in a bold approach to tackle a leading global challenge for health and social care today for dementia and brain health. This film is not a lament to loss but an inspiring celebration of the human spirit.
