Rad Tech Students Earn Perfect Pass Rate for Third Consecutive Year

November 19, 2025

For the third consecutive year, SUNY Orange’s Radiologic Technology students have achieved a 100% first-time pass rate on the national certification exam, continuing the program’s record of excellence in preparing graduates for success in the healthcare field.

All ten members of the Class of 2025 passed the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) national board exam on their first attempt. The consistent success of the program’s graduates reflects the College’s commitment to providing rigorous academic instruction, strong clinical experience, and exceptional faculty support.

“The Radiologic Technology program continues to exemplify the excellence that defines SUNY Orange,” said Dr. Erika Hackman, provost and vice president for academic affairs. “This achievement highlights the dedication of our faculty and the hard work of our students, who are entering the workforce ready to make meaningful contributions to patient care and the healthcare community.”

The Radiologic Technology program, accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), is among the most selective at SUNY Orange, admitting 24 students annually from a pool of more than 200 applicants. The program most recently received an eight-year accreditation, the maximum duration awarded by JRCERT.Rad Tech Students

In 2026, the program will be relocated to the College’s Newburgh campus, where students will benefit from state-of-the-art instructional spaces, enhanced laboratory facilities, and close proximity to several regional healthcare partners. The move strengthens SUNY Orange’s growing cluster of health professions programs in Newburgh and expands access to hands-on, high-quality training for students pursuing careers in medical imaging.

“I am incredibly proud of our students and the work they put in every day to reach this milestone,” said Professor Nicole Murray (Rushing), MPS, R.T. (R) (CT), department chair of diagnostic imaging. “A 100% first-time pass rate reflects not only their commitment but also the support of our faculty and clinical partners who mentor, challenge, and inspire them to excel. As we move to the Newburgh campus, I am confident that our students will continue to thrive in an environment designed to help them succeed.”

Radiologic technologists play an essential role in patient care, using imaging technology to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. SUNY Orange graduates have maintained a five-year average job placement rate of more than 97%, and the program continues to prepare students for immediate entry into a growing and in-demand profession.
