MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – As SUNY Orange Plus prepares for its next paramedic training program that will begin in April 2027, it announces opportunities for interested students to complete a free pre-screening process this Fall or enroll in free math bootcamps in advance of the pre-screening dates for those who feel they need extra math preparation for the program.

All applicants for the paramedic program must complete a pre-screening process. The College offers a free pre-screening that includes an EMT knowledge assessment, math assessment, and reading comprehension assessment. Applicants who do not wish to complete the pre-screening may instead enroll in the Paramedic Prep Course, which begins in February 2027. The $150 course reviews the information assessed during the pre-screening process. Students who successfully complete the Prep Course will qualify for the Paramedic Program, and the $150 course fee will be applied toward their Paramedic Program deposit when they register.

Free pre-screenings will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17; Monday, Sept. 28; Thursday, Oct. 15; and Wednesday, Oct. 28.

The optional math bootcamps will support applicants in their preparation for the pre-screening process. Those sessions will be held from 9 a.m. to Noon on the following Thursdays: Oct. 1 & 8, and Nov. 5.
