In keeping with our message from Friday evening regarding access to our campuses this week, we offer the following guidance.

Employees with last names beginning with letters A through L can access your offices tomorrow (Tuesday, March 24) from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. to collect any necessary work-related items to assist you in working remotely. Employees with last names beginning with the letters M through Z can access your offices on Wednesday (March 25) during the same 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. window.

Employees are STRONGLY REQUESTED to arrive on campus, gather your necessary work items and depart. As appealing as it may be to catch up with colleagues, we do not want people to linger, socialize or congregate. Governor Cuomo is requesting reductions in population density and we intend to honor his guidance. Employees are also urged to practice social distancing at all times.

Additionally, if you are sick or showing symptoms of the COVID-19 virus, PLEASE STAY HOME and we will work with you to find a suitable time or way for you to access your office once you are healthy.

Buildings on the Newburgh campus will be locked but the parking garage will be open and access to Kaplan Hall will allowed through the garage or via the Grand Street entrance. Tower Building access will be through the main entrance.

Employees are asked to access Middletown campus buildings via their primary (main) entrance whenever possible.

Those employees identified as essential employees whose in-person work is required for College operations on Tuesday have already been contacted by their supervisor, or will be shortly.

ADDITIONAL NOTE: People are working remotely, and in new and different ways for now. As we transition to remote operations and academic instruction, the College is receiving guidance from many sources. With input from the Governor’s office, as well as other constituent calls and a daily 5 p.m. SUNY presidents’ call, we often are pulling multiple sources of guidance together in concert with the decisions made during the day. That means that many of our College-wide updates are likely to come after traditional business hours, so we ask your flexibility in staying connected to email as we provide the latest information that we can.
