Coronavirus Update: March 20 PM edition

March 20, 2020

College community,

In light of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s executive order today, the College has determined that the only essential employees required to report to our campuses on Monday (March 23) will be a selection of Safety and Security personnel needed to maintain security at the campuses. Those Safety and Security personnel will be notified by Joe O’Dea, director of Safety and Security.

All other employees will be classified as non-essential for Monday only. As the week unfolds and we refine our operational needs based upon the latest available developments, employee status will be re-evaluated and changes will be made as necessary. Supervisors will be asked to notify employees if their status is changing. Our goal will always be to bring the fewest number of essential employees to campus as is absolutely necessary.

Non-essential employees who need to access their offices, to acquire items needed to conduct their work remotely, will be allowed access to campus buildings on Tuesday (March 24) and Wednesday (March 25). To comply with density and social distancing requirements, employees whose last name begins from A to L can come to campus on Tuesday (March 24) and employees with last names of M through Z can come on Wednesday (March 25).

As we’ve seen this week, the landscape changes quickly. We’ll continue to monitor developments and adapt accordingly. More information will follow.

Regards,

Kris
