Meet Our Team

Our PROSPERAR Team consists of diverse, enthusiastic, & mindful individuals who aspire to create a comprehensive support network that speaks to our students' needs, both in & outside of the classroom, as well as within our campus & the larger surrounding communities. All of our team members bring a personal, vested interest in our work with the campus community. Combined with our professional & academic experiences, each team member brings a unique perspective that enhances our ability to address the multifaceted challenges our students face.

Pathway Coaches

Through our Title V Grant, our team has taken holistic support a step further & brought on Pathway Coaches to reinforce available services & resources to our entire student population, starting with you. Pathway Coaches are SUNY Orange navigators, operating as an extension of the Center for Student Success, & are committed to your growth personally, professionally, & academically. Pathway Coaches also partner with various other departments & offices across the college to create a comprehensive, campus-wide safety net to provide academic, social & cultural programs designed to enrich your college experience through a community-specific lens.

Kimberly Quinones: Business

Kimberly is the Pathway Coach for the Business community. This community consists of students pursuing their education in Accounting (A.S.), Accounting (A.A.S), Accounting Procedures, Business Administration, Business Management and Healthcare Administration.

Kimberly holds a Master of Science in School Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from SUNY New Paltz. With a strong background in case management and student support, she has worked closely with first-generation and underserved youth, helping them navigate complex transitions. As a Unification Coordinator, she collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to connect youth with essential resources, reinforcing her commitment to advocacy and student success.

Kimberly’s passion lies in empowering students to recognize their strengths, break through barriers, and carve out pathways that align with their goals. She takes a holistic approach to guidance, ensuring students feel supported academically, personally, and professionally.

Kimberly’s favorite part about SUNY Orange is the sense of community and the opportunity to help students embrace their unlimited potential.

Two fun facts about Kimberly is that she has a deep love for travelling and cultural exchange—she’s taught English in Brazil and has studied abroad in Morocco. She also enjoys exploring how mindset, resilience, and adaptability shape personal growth and its generational impact. 

Scott Cooper: Health Sciences & Wellness

Scott Cooper is the Pathway Coach for the Health Sciences & Wellness Community. This community consists of students pursuing their education in the following: Dental Hygiene, Exercise Studies, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technician, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapy Assistant, Public Health, Radiologic Technology.

Scott brings over 20 years of experience in education, including presenting health and wellness workshops throughout New York. He holds an A.A. from Suffolk Community College, a B.S. from SUNY Binghamton, an M.S. in Health Education from Adelphi University, and an M.S. in School Leadership from SUNY New Paltz.

Scott is passionate about student success, with a strong background in academic counseling, and developing personalized strategies to support diverse learners. He also has experience coaching athletics, organizing professional development workshops, and promoting inclusion through culturally relevant health education.

Outside of work, Scott loves outdoor activities and is an avid runner. He has competed in mountain bike races, triathlons, Spartan races and running races. Most recently, he and his son completed hiking all the highest peaks in the Adirondacks!

Fun facts about Scott: He enjoys cooking, he grew up on a farm on Long Island and is currently training to run a marathon.

Ariana Acosta: Education and Human Services

Ariana holds a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood/Childhood Education from SUNY New Paltz and is an alumni of SUNY Orange with an A.S. degree from the JRTEP B-6 program. With 8 years of classroom teaching experience, Ariana brings a multifaceted approach in supporting all students.

Ariana’s passion for education shows in her creativity, team work, and strong connections. She believes in using personalized goals, unique pathways, and providing consistent support both personally and professionally.

As a direct result of the supportive environment of SUNY Orange, Ariana hopes to provide a positive experience for current students as she once had. Her favorite part of SUNY Orange is the sense of community and belonging that is provided for current and non current students.

Some fun facts about Ariana is her frequent involvement within school communities. She is the former president of SUNY Orange’s psychology club which helped grow her curiosity of childhood development in her teaching career. She also remains involved in current classroom environments and continues to collaborate with her peers.

Outside of work, Ariana loves reading, cooking, and video games. She enjoys trying new things and spending time with her loved ones. She believes that it is never too late to learn something new.

David Rodriguez: STEM

David Rodriguez's Headshot

David is a Pathway Coach for the STEM community. This community consists of students pursuing their education in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering Science, Web Development, Computer Networking, Architectural Technology, and Liberal Arts: Math and Natural Sciences. 

David holds an Associates of Science in Biological Sciences from SUNY Orange and a Bachelor of Science in Conservation Biology from SUNY Environmental Science and Forestry, while also previously being a Tutor at SUNY Orange as well as working for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. 

David loves nothing more than to help guide students through their college journey. With a strong background in student involvement from his time at SUNY ESF, David knows very well the needs that a student may have throughout their tenure at SUNY Orange, and finds joy in passing down knowledge to the next generation. 

In his free time, David loves to stay active at the gym. He also loves birdwatching and will update his eBird list regularly. When time allows it, David also loves to write music for his favorite instrument, the guitar. 

A couple fun facts about David: He loves legos, and has built a vase of flowers, a bird, and various cacti all from legos. David also loves gardening and taking care of his mother’s lime and apple trees.

Alex Haines: Justice & Community Engagement, Arts & Media

Alex has worked in education for ten years, offering students the chance to discover their authentic selves, as well their personal learning styles, work ethic, and skills of project scoping and management, through music.

The work of music and art reflect society and conversations we need to have as a whole - and so Alex has contributed project management skills to the work of multiple local advocacy organizations; they have also regularly volunteered with several Middletown-based organizations, braiding their passion for community building with advocacy, committing to what is possible when all of us as a community show up to the work of DEIJAB.

Alex holds a Bachelors in Music and regularly sings locally, with a focus in community building through intentional programming and partnerships.

Omaya Ortiz: Coordinator of Learning Pathways

Omaya Ortiz is the Coordinator for the Pathway Coaches at SUNY Orange. She supports students and coaches by helping coordinate services and resources in the Center for Student Success. Omaya can be found at the front desk on both campuses, where she enjoys connecting students with the support they need to thrive.
