COVID-19

COVID Vaccine Required for On-Campus Students in Spring 2023

The SUNY COVID vaccine policy will remain in effect for the Spring semester and it requires that students with a physical presence on either SUNY Orange campus provide evidence of, at minimum, the initial course of COVID vaccines  (“initial courses” includes both doses of a two-dose vaccine regimen or one dose of a single-dose vaccine). Students are strongly encouraged to stay up to date with vaccines.

For the Spring 2023 semester, COVID vaccine boosters ARE NOT REQUIRED. However, the requirement for a booster may be imposed at any time as a result of changes in local conditions or federal/state/local requirements. The CDC strongly recommends COVID-19 vaccine booster shots for anyone 18 or older (no sooner than six months after completing a two-dose vaccine regimen, and no sooner than two months after a one-dose vaccine regimen).

Indoor Masking is Optional on SUNY Orange Campuses

SUNY Orange endorses a “mask-optional” atmosphere for on-campus classes, events and activities. The College supports an individual’s choice to mask in any space for any reason and strongly endorses an “I Mask, Don’t Ask” College environment.

If you feel sick and have symptoms of a virus, you should stay home and contact your doctor or healthcare provider. Do not go to your doctor or urgent care without calling first. They can direct you on the proper way to visit their office or how best to address your symptoms at home if they are mild.
