Requirements
Honors Designation Requirements
Students earn the Honors Program designation on their transcripts and seal on their diplomas upon graduation if they have been accepted by and attained the following in the Honors Program:
- Completion of all degree requirements, and
- Achievement of a 3.5 GPA at the time of graduation with no semester GPA less than 3.0.
Note: Students not in the Honors Program but interested in taking an honors course should
contact the Honors Program Coordinator for more detailed information.

*Service learning, seminar (taken three times), and capstone credits are specific requirements of the Honors Program. They also may be counted as Liberal Arts or General Electives. They are restricted to those students who have been admitted into the program.
Service Learning: Students complete 45 hours of community service over two semesters and complete a
reflection paper; generally done in the freshman year.
Capstone Project: Students complete a research project of their choice for public presentation. They
attend a weekly class and also work with a faculty mentor. The topic is proposed and
researched in the penultimate semester, with the paper and presentation completed
in the final semester.
**May be fulfilled by taking non-Honors MAT 205 OR by taking one of the following non honors math courses AND one of the following non honors science courses, depending upon degree requirements:
