Public Recreation Facilities (currently closed)

Our recreational facilities are located in the Physical Education building at the Middletown Campus (map). Our facilities and grounds are available for weekend use by the campus community and the general public through our Public Recreation Club Program. Facilities are available on either a "first come, first served" basis or through group reservations.

Our recreational facilities include the following:

  • Swimming Pool - indoor, heated, 25 yard pool with 6 lanes and starting blocks.
  • Weight Room: includes Cybex weight training machines; treadmills; row machine; stationary bikes; free weights.
  • Racquetball/Handball Courts: 6 regulation size courts with observation deck.
  • Three Gymnasiums
  • Dance Studio: equipped with mats and mirrors.
  • Men's & women's locker rooms and shower facilities.

Our facilities are open during public recreation hours to the general public for a small fee. The facilities are free for current SUNY Orange students (full & part time), SUNY Orange faculty & staff members.*

Facility Fee
Swimming Pool $10 per person per day
Racquetball Courts $10 per person per hour or $15 for two hours
Weight Room $10 per person per day
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult when using the facilities. Payments can be made at the sign-in desk upon arrival.
*PLEASE NOTE: Current students, faculty and staff must present their ID cards or semester schedules at sign-in desk.

Weekend hours are scheduled for use of the pool, racquetball courts, weight room, and dance studio. There is limited use of the gymnasiums. All patrons are asked to sign in at the recreation desk in the lobby.
