Program Description:

This course is designed to prepare students for a rewarding career as a Home Health Aide (HHA). It covers the essential skills and knowledge required to provide high-quality care to individuals in their homes, focusing on the physical, emotional, and social needs of clients.

Key topics include:

  • Introduction to Home Health Care: Understanding the role and responsibilities of a Home Health Aide, including the importance of patient dignity and confidentiality.
  • Basic Patient Care: Training in personal hygiene, grooming, nutrition, and mobility assistance to enhance clients' daily living activities.
  • Vital Signs Monitoring: Techniques for measuring and recording vital signs, recognizing abnormal findings, and reporting to healthcare professionals.
  • Communication Skills: Developing effective communication techniques to interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Safety and Emergency Procedures: Understanding safety protocols and emergency response techniques to ensure a safe environment for clients.
