Eligibility
Am I eligible to be an ASAP Student?
Fall 2024
New, transfer, returning, and continuing students who meet the criteria below are eligible for the SUNY Orange ASAP Program:
- Be accepted as a SUNY Orange student (please review the Admissions page to apply).
- Be a New York State resident or qualify for in-state tuition.
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) application or the Dream Act application, and receive at least $1 of federal Pell or NYS grant aid (TAP or Excelsior)*
- Enroll in and maintain a full-time student status (12 or more credit hours) each semester (Fall/Spring).
- Enroll in one of the following ASAP-approved degree programs at SUNY Orange:
- Accounting (A.S.)
- Accounting (A.A.S.)
- Business Administration
- Business Management
- Healthcare Administration
- Human Services
- Liberal Arts: Humanities & Social Sciences
- Criminal Justice (A.S.)
- Criminal Justice (Police, A.A.S.)
- Architectural Technology
- Computer Information Technology (CIT) Networking
- Computer Science
- Cyber Security
- Engineering Science
- Early Childhood Development and Care
- Jointly Registered Teacher Education Program
- Liberal Arts: Mathematics & Science
- Visual Communications: Graphic Arts and Printing
- New Media
- Web Development
- Have previously earned no more than 21 credits (excluding credits earned in high school) from another accredited college or university.
*Students concerned about completing the FAFSA due to family circumstances can reach out to ASAP staff to learn about options to apply directly for New York State financial aid.
Please Note:
- To maximize opportunity for all students to receive supports and services, please note that you cannot participate in the Educational Opportunities Program (EOP), and ASAP at SUNY Orange.
- If you are transfering from another SUNY institution and are a member of an ASAP | ACE program, you are able to transfer your participation to ASAP at SUNY Orange! Please reach out to ASAP Staff directly for more information.
