Complete the BOCES CTE Practical Nursing program with a grade ≥ 85 within 5 years of entering Nursing 102 - Fundamentals
Pass the NYS Licensed Practical Nurse examination and submit a copy of current license
Successfully complete the College's nursing Bridge 1 course before entering the Nursing program
Receive a grade ≥ 75 in NUR 102 - Fundamentals to receive credit for NUR 101 - Fundamentals
To challenge NUR 201 - Nursing 3: Care of the Growing Family an official transcript needs to be approved by the College's department of nursing to validate a minimum of 70 clinical hours in Maternal/Child Nursing before taking the Excelsior College Examination for Maternal and Child Nursing, baccalaureate level
Receive a grade ≥ B on the Excelsior College Examination of Maternal and Child Nursing, baccalaureate level, results submitted to the College
Request from the nursing department's current chairperson in writing to be granted advanced standing into NUR 102 - Nursing 4
Receive a grade  ≥ 75 in NUR 202 - Nursing 4: Physical and Mental Illnessat the College to receive  credit for NUR 201 - Nursing 3: Caring for the Growing Family
If all of the above criteria have been met, credit will be awarded for, NUR 101 - Nursing 1: Fundamentals (7 credits) and NUR 201 - Nursing 3: Care of the Growing Family (7 credits)
Any BOCES graduate who does not meet the requiremnts set forth can challeng NUR 101 by taking the Exelsior College Fundamentals of Nursing Examination and receive a grade ≥ B
