Where to Find CPR Classes
Many organizations throughout Orange County offer classes. First, determine exactly which type of class you need to take, and then find a provider below. Always call first to verify class dates and times as these can change and the web site may not have been updated.

Class Descriptions:
ACLS (Certification)- Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies, including personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care, and critical care units.
BLS Healthcare Providers (Certification) - Designed for the healthcare professional, course includes adult and pediatric CPR, relief of foreign body airway obstruction, and AED use.
CPR for Family & Friends (No certification) – For all lay rescuers; also appropriate for school children. This course includes rescue skills in CPR, the chain of survival, relief of foreign body airway obstruction, signs of a heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke, and choking. Also, pediatric emergent situations, signs of choking in infants and children, and prevention of the most common fatal injuries in children and infants.
First Aid (Certification) – This course includes skills to effectively assess and maintain life immediately following an emergency; First Aid, CPR, and use of AED.
Heartsaver CPR (Certification) – This course includes information on first aid for choking, guidelines for adult, child, and infant CPR, heart attack symptoms and recognition of a heart attack, stroke symptoms and recognition of a stroke.
PALS (Certification) - Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Designed for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children, including personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, paramedics and others who need a PALS course completion card for job or other requirements.

Blooming Grove Volunteer Ambulance Corps Training Center
The Blooming Grove Volunteer Ambulance Corps (BGVAC) Training Center offers monthly American Heart Association courses at its bay. These classes are open to the general public, and emergency response personnel. The Ambulance Corps provides these classes at a nominal, affordable charge. All classes taught on-site at the ambulance bay are taught by volunteer instructors.
