Internships
The academic areas of the Business Department offer Internships in: AAS Accounting and AAS Business Management.
Internship experiences are set up for our graduating students - those who have successfully completed much of their program's coursework, called prerequisites, and a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA).
ACC 220 Accounting Internship- Prerequisites include ACC 102 or ACC 153, ACC 214, ACC 205 and BUS 203 and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Students integrate classroom theory in a monitored and supervised work experience. Offered Spring semester only.

MGT 220 Internship: Business- Permission of the Business Department Chair is required after a review of coursework completed. You should have completed the majority of the Business core classes. It also has a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Students integrate classroom theory in a monitored and supervised work experience. Offered Fall and Spring semesters.
The Internship: Business is optional for our Business Management majors. It may also be used as a Business Elective in the Marketing degree program. For more information, contact Lucinda Fleming, Department Chair, at 845-341-4440.
All internship experiences include weekly one-hour seminars, either in class or online, and 90 hours of work experience prior to the end of the semester. At the end of the semester, a portfolio is completed by each student. This is a compilation of the resume, employer references, examples of skill work, and research projects. The portfolio can be brought to interviews.
Please Note: Approval by the instructor and/or department chair is required before registering for any internship course.
