Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
Since 2005, SUNY Orange students have participated in the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. This program trains students to prepare and file income tax returns for low income members of our community.
Each year, under the direction of a Business faculty member, students complete approved training and pass a Basic Competency test. Once certified, the students volunteer their time to meet with SUNY Orange students and other community members and assist them in completing their income tax returns.
This opportunity has provided both a valued service to the community and valuable experience for SUNY Orange students to add to their resume.
Please check with us to find out how to volunteer for next tax season!
