I have completed some post masters work at The College of New Rochelle, The College of Saint Rose, Adelphi University and Marist College.
I worked in the mental health field for approximately 20 years including: working in the field of alcoholism and drug addiction for three years; schizophrenia for six months; mental retardation for three years full time, and two years part time; five years with inner city youth in group therapy and psycho-educational assessments for CSE placements; and twelve years at the SUNY Orange Counseling Center doing personal counseling, career counseling, transfer counseling, and academic advisement. During my full time work at the Counseling Center I worked part time teaching Psychology here at SUNY Orange, and in the year 2000 I began teaching Psychology on a full time basis. Since beginning teaching I have taught Psychology of Adjustment, General Psychology I and II, Introduction to Psychology, Child Psychology, Adolescent Psychology, Developmental Psychology, College Skills, and Career Planning.
During my time here at SUNY Orange I have been an active member of the college community being part of, and being the chair-person of many committees. In addition I have been the club advisor for the latino-carribean club here at SUNY Orange and have chaperoned for the masters of the elements club on their ski trips. In addition, I have been the advisor for the Psychology Club at the Middletown campus since 2011.
On a personal level I have been married since 1984 and have one son and a small dog.
My activities outside of the classroom are numerous and varied. I love going out to
dinner and I enjoy traveling with a passion. I enjoy skiing from Vermont to Jackson
Hole Wyoming; sailing in the Hudson River, as well as bareboat cruising on sailboats
in the British Virgin and Grenadine islands, visiting over 22 Caribbean islands to
date. I have been motorcycling in every state from Maine to Florida to California,
Oregon and back to New York. I have been snorkeling and scuba diving in the eastern,
southern and western Caribbean including diving many times off the coast of Mexico
both on the Caribbean and the Pacific side, and have logged over 100 dives. I have
given up playing competitive soccer and running and I am now an avid golfer. I have
also given up playing drums for a living.
