Catherine (Kate) O’Callaghan is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at SUNY Orange. She is also a proud graduate of SUNY Orange. After leaving SUNY Orange, she went on to earn a BA and MA from SUNY New Paltz, where she studied English Literature. She later went on to earn a Ed. M in English Education Studies, focusing on diversity and digital literacy in the English classroom at the University at Buffalo. 

Professor O’Callaghan has worked at SUNY Orange since 2008, where she began as a professional tutor. She worked as an adjunct instructor from 2013 until 2019 when she became a full-time instructor. She teaches 14th to 18th century British literature, 19th-Early 20th century British literature, Shakespeare, and Freshman composition courses. She has also taught as part of the Honors Program and has served as a Capstone and SOARS mentor. She is currently the Faculty Association Vice President of Grievances & Contract Management and is honored to serve as the chair of the Professional Recognition and Awards Committee as well as a member of the Faculty and Staff Development Committee.
