Krista Quinn is an Instructor of English at SUNY Orange with over 20 years of teaching
experience. She has taught English at both the high school and college levels and
also brings supervisory experience from her time in secondary education. Her doctoral
dissertation was a qualitative study examining how community college writing professors
make students feel like they matter—work that reflects her long-standing commitment
to inclusive, student-centered teaching. Beyond the classroom, Krista has served as
a department coordinator, a TRiO liaison, and an academic coach. She has led grant
projects focused on strengthening students’ digital reading skills, and expanding
the use of OER in English and Communications courses. She is a two-time graduate of
NYU’s Steinhardt School of Education and holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership
from Manhattanville University. When she isn’t teaching or working on academic projects,
she enjoys traveling to sunny destinations with her husband and two children.
