Testing Appointments

The Office of Accessibility Services (OAS) provides test proctoring for students with approved testing accommodations during the fall and spring semesters. To test with OAS, you must have an approved testing accommodations on file and submit your testing appointment request through Accommodate.

Testing Hours:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Middletown Campus
Shepard Student Center, Room 227

Newburgh Campus
Kaplan Hall, 1st Floor, Student Services Central

Scheduling a Testing Appointment:
All testing appointments must be requested through Accommodate at least 72 hours before your scheduled exam (see instruction video below).

Follow these steps to schedule your exam:

  1. Log in to Accommodate using your SUNY Orange login information.
  2. Click on the “Test/Quiz Scheduling” tab on the left side of the page.
  3. Click the “New Booking Request” button
  4. Select the course you are booking the exam for and click “Next Step”
  5. Select the date of the exam and click “Next Step”
  6. Choose the appropriate location and time and click the “Request” button.
  7. A pop up will appear, complete the form and click “Submit Request”
  8. Your booking will now appear under your “Pending Booking Requests”

If there are any questions about your booking request, OAS will contact you via your SUNY Orange email. Your appointment is not scheduled until it has been approved by OAS and is in the “Approved Booking Requests” tab in Accommodate. If you have problems scheduling, contact the office directly.

Other Important Information:

  • Students should schedule exams during their regularly scheduled class time unless alternate arrangements have been approved by both the instructor and OAS.
  • Exams must be scheduled at the campus where the course is held.
  • Students with evening classes should speak with their instructor about taking the exam during OAS testing hours or make other arrangements directly with their instructor.

Testing Expectations:

  • Arrive at your scheduled appointment on time. Students who arrive late will have that amount of time deducted from their testing time.
  • If you miss your appointment, you must notify both your instructor and OAS. A new appointment may only be scheduled with your instructor's approval.
  • If your instructor changes the exam date or time, notify OAS as soon as possible.
  • Only materials specifically approved by your instructor may be brought into the testing room. Unauthorized materials, including cell phones and smart watches, are prohibited.
  • Talking is not permitted in the testing room. Any suspected academic integrity violations will be reported to your instructor.
  • Please note that OAS testing rooms are distraction-reduced, not distraction-free.
  • If students experience any concerns during their exam or believe your approved accommodations are not being provided, notify OAS staff immediately so the issue can be addressed.
