ATI-TEAS Testing Procedures

The Test of Essentail Academic Skills (TEAS) is a multiple-choice exam that measures basic skills in Reading, Mathematics, Science, and English & Language Usage.

If you are applying to the SUNY Orange Nursing Program, you must complete the TEAS.

Choose Where to Take the TEAS

You have three options:

1. SUNY Orange Testing Center (In-person testing only).
2. ATI offers online TEAS test proctoring directly through the ATI website. Test virtually with ATI
3. Find a testing location through ATI  ATI approved testing location

To test at SUNY Orange, register for an ATI account first. ATI testing 
SUNY Orange is listed as “Orange County CC ADN.”

SUNY Orange does not offer remote TEAS testing.

SUNY Orange Proctoring Fee

No fee - currently enrolled SUNY Orange students
$50 - non-SUNY Orange students

The $50 fee is paid in person at Student Services Central before your test. Accepted payment options are cash, check and credit card (no American Express).

Middletown: Shepard Student Center, 3rd Floor
Newburgh: Kaplan Hall, 1st Floor

The SUNY Orange proctoring fee is separate from the ATI exam fee. ATI charges an additional exam fee (currently under $100). ATI's fee is paid online by debit or credit card before the exam.

What to Bring

1. School or government-issued photo ID
2. ATI username and password
3. Debit or credit card for the ATI exam fee
4. $50 payment receipt, if you are a non-SUNY Orange student

Plan for approximately four hours to complete the exam.

Testing Accommodations

If you have testing accommodations through SUNY Orange, contact the Office of Accessibility Services (OAS) before scheduling your test.

Scores

• Your score is available immediately through your ATI account after you complete the exam.
• Current and prospective SUNY Orange students must send a PDF of their score report to: apply@sunyorange.edu
• TEAS scores are valid for two years.

Retesting

SUNY Orange students must wait 45 days before retaking the TEAS.

Students may take the TEAS twice during an academic year (August–July).
